BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Wiltshire

The dial is half a mile from the house in awalled garden, mounted on an ornate baluster pedestal 1086h on a wide 3-stepped plinth. It shows 4am to 9pm with 30, 15 and 2 minute marks, and has a compass rose pricked out in dotted lines. The triangular ’strip’ gnomon has a single vertical support and the dial is secured with eight domed plate mounting screws.
