BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Petrock’s Parish Church, Newton St Petrock

A slate dial, 320mm square, is in position on the church porch. The churchwarden, John Andrew, has his name across the top followed by the date 1723. A sun face lies at the origin of the gnomon and there are tulips in the bottom corners. The hours 6am to 6pm are shown divided into halves by lines each bearing a fleur-de-lys, and into quarters. In her paper on North Devon Sundials Mrs Crowley commented on the beautifully executed numerals, comparing them with those on dials at Frithelstock, Stowford and Kings Nympton. There is still just about enough left of the rusting gnomon to indicate the time but the rest of the dial is in good condition apart from a small chip at the top right hand corner.
