BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Sarum House (1), Winkleigh

Slightly canted from the wall to face due south is a slate vertical dial showing the hours 6am to 6pm divided into halves. It has separate scales for GMT and BST and is inscribed with its latitude and longitude. The motto reads ’Fugit Hora sine Mora’ (The hour flies without delay). The initials on the dial are those of the designer J D Weaver and the maker Ben Jones who produced the dial in 1995.
