BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Yorkshire (N)

This thick dial is located in the south of the churchyard. Inscribed ’Horas non numero nisi serenas’ and ’James Barber (Lord Mayor of York) of Tang Hall obit March 10 1857’. 16 point Compasss (8 points lettered). Triangular gnomon supporters. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15, 10 and 5 min marks [2min marks from 10-2]. Dial plate heavily oxidised. Uses XII & IIII. Split Noon line. Other scales. Unusual pedestal.
