BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Manchester (Greater)

The maker’s name is unfortunately illegible on this horizontal brass dial, though it is in reasonable condition. The date however is shown as 1765, with a latitude of 53 deg 25 min. It sits in the south-west corner of the churchyard on a stone plinth 1150mm high and the gnomon angle is measured at 52.2 deg. The Roman numerals run from IIII - XII - IIII - VII, read from the inside, and there are 30, 15 and five minute markings.
