BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Shropshire

The dial stands in the churchyard to the south-west of the church, near the street. The gnomon has been missing for some time and the dial is misaligned. The time scale is divided for the thickness of the gnomon but time lines before 6am and after 6pm are not drawn correctly. The plate is secured by six circumferential screws. The time is shown to 5 minutes or better by sloping lines. The plinth is an older shaft of a stone cross. Ref Elliott, Shropshire Clockmakers. W Newall was a clockmaker from 1789 who died in 1812 and who engraved brass in the church.
