BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St James’ Cathedral Church, Bury St Edmunds

Vertical stone sundial on South nave buttress. The sundial shows the hours in Roman numerals from 6am to 5pm in half and quarter hours. The (bent) gnomon has a spherical end knob and is supported on a stirrup two foot mount stanchion. The dial is supported on a single stone corbel. Along the top edge the motto reads: "Go about your business".
