BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

York City Art Gallery, York

Dial is located in light box on wall at the rear left of the entrance hall. Shows 6am to 5pm in half and quarter hours. Outward half hour markers chequerboard quarters. Gnomon said to be held by Gallery. Ref: Mrs Gatty and York Historian Vol 4 1984. Made for General Fairfax and previously at Nun Appleton House nr Tadcaster. In Aug 2007 the dial had been moved from the entrance hall and was thought to be in store.
