BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Parish Church (no dedn)., Aylton

Partly hidden under the eaves at the west end of the church is a vertical south dial painted on plaster. It shows the hours 7am to 5pm divided into halves and quarters. It measures 1530mm in diameter. One wonders why the dial was not sited lower so that it could cover more hours. A mass dial can be seen at the corner of the chancel.
