BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Howford Sheltered Housing Estate, Inverurie

The plinth is an ornate structure comprising 8 birds associated with the seasons, made out of mild steel rods, standing on an octagonal granite base. Principally a sculpture, where the ’tail feather’ of one of the birds is bent over to form the gnomon, somewhat compromising the accuracy, though it is marked for both GMT and BST!
