BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Slaley Hall Hotel, Slaley

The dial is in an open area adjacent to the hotel reception, standing on a tall column with an elaborate capital, and surmounted by an iron plume decoration. It uses upright Arabic numerals on all faces. The motto across the top of the south face reads ’Tempus Fugit’. All four gnomons are present and in good condition, those on the north and south originating from flaming half suns.
