BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Human analemmatic dial engraved into stone paving slabs in a pedestrian zone. The dial has Arabic hour numbers from 5am to 8pm with no other indication of the dial ellipse. The north-south axis is in the form of an arrow with a crescent moon tail. The date scale on which you must stand so that your shadow tells the time uses the symbols for the signs of the Zodiac, rather than the much more common month names. Along the south side of the dial is a table that shows the months against the Zodiac constellations’ signs. The dial has several portentious mottoes in Greek, Latin and English: "Pereunt et Imputantur" [they perish and are reckoned to our account] referring to the need to spend our time on earth well, "Vigilate et Orate" [watch and pray], "The Silent Shadow speaks - Dost Thou Heed" and one in Greek. The dial was the winning entry in a competition run by the Hampshire Sculpture Trust. It was designed and made by Richard Kindersley in York and Lasonby sandstone flagstones. Unfortunately, some of them have cracked. Chris Daniel provided dial delineation data. See http://www.kindersleystudio.co.uk/basingstoke-analemmatic-dial/
