BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

All Saints’ Church, Ranton nr Stafford

On south wall of nave. Horizontal rod gnomon (badly bent to the right), Saxon type - could it be original? - protrudes from the centre of a semicircle of radial lines with traces of Arabic numerals. Shows 6am to 6pm in half hours with some lines above the horizon. Dial is part of a 13th C wall so maybe a late mass (or transitional) dial but it may also be earlier in date since the stone on which it is carved is of different colour to the one above.
