BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Eversley

Church Road is off the A327, to the south of the village. This rectangular direct south vertical dial in wood is at the top of a buttress at the west end of the church. The dial is made of four pieces of untreated oak, the markings carved in high relief. The centre of the dial has a wavy pattern echoing the form of the gnomon supporter. There are hour lines and vertical Roman numerals from 6am to 6pm. Noon is marked with a cross, 4pm by IIII. Above the dial its dates are given as: ’1852/renewed 1965’ but a print of 1834 shows a dial in the same place. In 1852 the rector was Charles Kingsley, the author.
