BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Date of house is 1573 - 1799. Arthur Mee,1940 [listed by Mee under Boreham]. Date in arch over dial. Latin inscription nearby. Shows 6am to 5pm in half and quarter hours. Strip gnomon with horizontal scroll gnomon supporter. Black painted markings on stone ground. Uses XII and IIII. Numerals viewed from outside the chapter ring and aligned with the hour lines. Mounted high on central facade of building.
