BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Thomas a Becket Church, Chapel-en-le-Frith

Above the porch, a really fine modern dial, a 1984 replacement for one of 1733. Mottoes read: "Tempus Fugit", which appears on many hundreds of dials and, ’Ut Umbra--- sic Vita’, ’as a Shadow, so Life’. A beautiful piece of work. The dial declines 8 deg east.
