BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Wedmore

The dial commemorates the 1100th anniversary of the Peace of Wedmore, the peace agreement between Alfred the Great and the Danish leader Guthrum. It is mounted on the south wall of the Lady Chapel, being fixed on bronze brackets which allow adjustment of alignment. It shows 6am to 6pm in hours marked in upright Arabic numberals, with short hour lines and no subdivisions.
