BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Old Methodist Chapel, Newtown nr Longnor

The dial is on the east end of the south wall. The motto across the top reads: "A Life on flight’s soon out of sight". It uses upright numerals VII - XII - IV - V, divided to 30 and 15 minutes. The chapel is not that marked on the OS map at 060 631 but is a building at a junction where a telephone box is shown. Ref: Staffordshire - a Shell Guide, Henry Thorold.
