BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hampshire

An octagonal horizontal dial in the garden behind the war memorial, at the entrance to the old hospital air raid shelter. It is not shown in 1920s photo of the Assembly Rooms. The motto reads: "Teechinge Shades". Unusual compass with points named ’Sovth East’ etc, in pointed parallel sided markers. Shows IV - XII - IV - VIII, viewed from outside, with split noon and 30 & 7.5 min marks. Hour lines pass through numerals. The gnomon root is South of the 6am/6pm horizon line. SRN 1034 has similarities. The date of 1673 is very suspect, and the dial is probably early 20th century. The plinth is modern Doric style. 960mm high, and is aligned with the garden. Square capital & plinth. The gnomon was vandalised in 2002 and is now in store.
