BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Lindisfarne Castle, Berwick-upon-Tweed

Set on slender baluster pedestal with square top and base. 8 pt comp. Shows 6am to 6pm in hours though without any hour lines. Offset Roman numeral layout with numerals read from inside the dial. Uses XII and IV. Thin gnomon with bulbous end, pierced with three leaf and hole motif. Near mistake in engraving of 7am. Four hole fixing. Inscr on plinth reads "Gertrude Jekyll 1843 - 1932" and "TIMELY REMINDER 1993" on opposite faces of the base block. Dial set in flower bed and rather inaccessible.
