BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
Hour lines incised, numerals are raised. Sun burst at origins of N and S faces. Each face labelled - ’N’ and ’S’ at top of dial, ’E’ and ’W’ in centre. S face hard to read due to site boundary, but motto at top: "Time Flies". Arabic numerals. All gnomons present. Longstock Park Nursery is a Waitrose supermarket. To the dial: from customer centre, across plant sales area, through East boundary wall gate, South alongside the herbaceous border, dial is in SW 3 foot high beech boundary hedge. It was moved around 1975 from another John Lewis Partnership estate, Odney, nr Cookham, Berks.
