BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Michael’s Church, South Elmham

This stone sundial is mounted over the window to the right hand side of the porch. The hour numerals are VI - XII - IV - VI, with hour lines to a semicircle around the gnomon root. In the semicircle are the initials ’n w’, in a large lower case type face. The strip iron gnomon with double curled end has a single rod supporter. The mottoes across the top read: "Why stand gazing, be about your business" and across the bottom "I only count the sunlit hours", with a shamrock leaf design below. The dial was in very poor condition in 2003 but had been restored or remade by 2019.
