BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Salutation, Sandwich

This dial is above the centre window at the back of the house which was designed by Lutyens and dated 1912. It bears the useful and unusual inscription ’Clock & dial / agree / April 16 Sep 1 / June 15 Dec 25’. Arabic hour numerals for 3am to 12 noon, divided to half and quarter hours. The wall and dial decline 75 deg East.
