Dial in Yorkshire (N)

This is a replacement dial and is found in a field adjacent to the house. It is set into the circular top stone of a large octagonal sectioned plinth, supported on a square base. The top stone is engraved with 8 compass points, north being shown as a fleur-de-lys. Hours read from inside V - XII - IIII - VII, with a noon gap and divided to 30 and 5 minutes, marked in a ring outside the hour numerals. There are no hour lines. South of the gnomon is ’Lat 54’ and below that ’Silas Higgon fecit’ and ’G. A. M. & J. M. M. 1996’
