BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St James’ Church, Braithwell

The dial is located high over the main door. It has an arched top with lettering inside the arch. A lead capping covers some of the lettering, which includes churchwarden’s names ’Thomas . . . . Dyson’. The rod gnomon has a semicircualr arc at the root. The dial shows 6am to 6pm with Arabic numbers, in 30,15,10 and 5 minute intervals. The half hour lines are marked by a cross.
