BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is at the end of the terrace behind the house. It stands on a lovely original hollow stone plinth with rose and fleur-de-lys carvings, 1100 high, standing on two concentric circles of riven sandstone at the top of the terrace steps. An inscription reads: "I tell sun time". Lat 51 degs. The Curator states that this dial replaces one that was stolen, though even that may not have been the original; that may have been as old as the house, 1903.
