BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Peter’s Church, Mancetter

Arthur Mee in his ’King’s Engand ’ series of books was very good at taking note of sundials whereas Pevsner in his ’Buildings of England’ volumes almost always omitted any mention of them. Mee writes of the impressive tower here having strange things on it; a gallows and an executioners axe but also, on the porch,’a sundial to mark the bright hours.’ The dial is set into the brickwork above the entrance into the south porch, and is canted so that it faces true south.
