BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The dial is visible from the road on a house on the right hand side going down the hill into Whitstable. It has a very long circular section and tapered gnomon. The gnomon angle may be incorrect. Cast numerals are fixed on a 90 deg arc divided around a vertical, painted gold, on a white scale on blue. Hours are shown from 8am to 4pm in half and quarter hours. Scale runs from 7.30am to 4.30pm. Roman numerals use the form XII and IV. Probably restored recently to 1993. The scale is on an arc marked out on metal and fastened to the wall below the gnomon.
