BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Derbyshire

The dial is mounted in the brickwork of the chimney, housed in a frame of dark stonework matching the nearby window surrounds, and forming a triple-arched canopy. The motto is ’Vestigia Nulla Retrorsum’,(Never a step backwards). The dial shows 6am to 6pm in hours using XII and IV. There is a raised sunface centred on gnomon root.
