BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hampshire

This is a simple but good quality memorial dial. At the centre is an eight point compass rose with all points labelled. Between this and the chapter rings are hour lines from 4am to 8pm, with a noon gap. The Roman hour numerals, aligned with the hour lines, are read from outside the dial. They use IIII at 4 o’clock, and there are arrowheads on the half hours. Lastly, the outermost rings have quarter hour and 5-minute lines respectively. The plain but substantial gnomon has a single straight supporter. The dial is discreetly fixed to a circular plinth. This is one of two memorial dials in this churchyard.
