BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

UK Hydrographic Office, Taunton

This is the third and last of a trilogy of dials of an Arabic style by this maker. Dial shows 3 declination lines, Equation of Time and the crest of the UKHO. Pedestal formed from two stone blocks. Presented to the UKHO to mark the bi-centenial anniversary of the establishment of the Hydrographic Office. Inscription around the edge of the dial plate reads ’… 200 years of service by the Hydrographic Office to safety of life at sea.’ Reference: 1 - Clocks Magazine, 18,No 5, p 30 (Oct 1995).
