BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Hampton Court, Richmond

In exhibition room. EoT tables. Shows 4am to 8pm. Intervals not recorded. Finely pierced gnomon. Compass and Azimuth ring. Marble pedestal in form of a bellied octagonal baluster with William III’s cypher. This dial was for a time removed from Hampton Court in 1832 and set up at Kew. See SRN 6740 and 5309 for replicas. Ref: Clocks Magazine, 18,no 4, p 28 (Sep 1995). (In May 2005 this - the original dial - was on display in the museum). Both postcards were taken in Kew Gardens.
