BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

This is a diamond shaped dial with extensions at each corner. It was restored in 1961 and this date, with those of the restorer, are in the lower and upper extension. It has a gold flaming sunface in the centre, and gold numerals and letters on blue ground. It shows 1pm to 8pm in Roman numerals, using IV for 4pm. The dial is on the west wall of the Hall, and dates from before 1865.
