St John’s churchyard, Saxmundham

East facing cylindrical scaphe sundial set at angle of latitude into gravestone. The sundial is engraved into the upper part of the grave marker stone, 30 metres South-west of the church, of J and M Noller (d1724/5). The hour lines indicate from 7 to 11am with Arabic numerals. A similar scaphe dial exists on the West side of this stone, showing the afternoon hours.
