BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is in the Privy Garden. It is a Mk1 Type 1 Standard Model. Serial #114. Heavy patination, heliochronometer bowl base rather than open ring stand. Inscription reads: "From GSB to ESH 1908" and "GJ Gibbs invenit". Stone base with three (possibly four?) mottoes in Greek, Latin and Italian. Greek one translated reads:" [Time bears away all things]". Latin reads: "Hora Diem Depascit Eundo". Italian one (see Gatty (3rd) number 432, page 247) reads: PUO FALLARE LA CAMPANA IL FERRO MA RISPLENDE (IL) SOLE IO NON ERRO. [The iron bell may wrongly toll, I err not, if the sun shine well] At Comano, in the Trentino. Badly stuck in ’98. Shows 5am to 7pm in 2 min intervals. Nice column pedestal.
