BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Cathedral Close, Winchester

The dial is at the top of a buttress on the south transept. It has an Iron gnomon and shows 8am to 6pm in half hours. A plaque in Dean Garnier Garden in front of the dial suggests that the dial dates from the 1670’s.
