BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dolphin Cottage, St Ives

The vertical slate dial declining 12° east has lost its gnomon but it could once show the hours VI-V divided into halves and quarters. In the arch of the dial plate is the date 1790 and the name J Wallis who was known locally as a preacher and exorcist. He may have made the dial or he may have been the donor of it.
