BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

North Lodge, Thornton Hough

Thornton Hough lies amid spacious countryside near the centre of the Wirral peninsula. This horizontal brass dial, visible from the road, is in excellent condition and bears the figure of Father Time along with the motto: ’Grow old with me, The best is yet to be’. It is bedded on a square section fluted plinth. The gnomon angle is said to be 42 degrees.
