BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Merseyside

The dial is in the front garden. The motto reads: ’He writes nothing who is never read’ (Martial, Epigrams. Bk III. Ep 9.7) Fitted with bell jar. Mk2 Type2 Standard model. #536. Pilkington Gibbs design adjustable for latitude bet 38 and 60 degs Shows 5am to 7pm in 2 min intervals. Restored by G Aldred 1995.
