BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Yorkshire (N)

The dial is to the west of the church. Numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from inside, with half hour lines terminating in a triple dot, and quarter hour marks, and a large outward-pointing fleur-de-lys at noon. Broad bar gnomon with ornate scrolled support. Central circle has ’Lat 54 15’ read from the N and is bordered with leaf decoration. In the chapter ring gap at the S, read from the N, is ’Nich.Gouge.D.D’, and below that is ’Rector of / . . . / 1751’. The plate is mounted on a square-sectioned stone plinth, the top inscribed ’HORAS NON NUMERO NISI SERENAS’.
