BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St David’s Cathedral, St Davids

Unusually, this dial is located inside the cathedral, in St Edwards Chapel. It is mounted on a marble reredos behind the recumbent effigy of Lady Maidstone, in the Chapel of St Edward the Confessor in the south east corner of the cathedral. The sun reaches the dial at certain times but the polished surface makes it hard to read the gnomon shadow. The motto reads: "Vita Perfecta ad Umbras Redeo", [Life Completed to the Shadows I Return] in Celtic script. The date ’1918’ is inscribed on the east side of the gnomon. The chapel was restored c 1920.
