BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Brynach’s Church, Nevern

The present dial is a replacement, possibly a replica, made by B W Gerrard. It uses Roman hour numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from the outside, with a noon gap, and divided to half and quarter hours. The centre of the plate has an 8-point compass star labelled to NE etc, surrounded by an Equation of Time scale. At the south is the inscription ’Presented for the use of Nevern congregation J B Bowen September 1879’, copied from the original dial. The original dial dated 1879 stood on a constructed stone block plinth in the churchyard to the northeast of the church, but was found missing in 1998, with the slate top broken in half. The maker’s name ’Newton & Co, London’ was on the north rim. The dial showed time from 4am to 8pm with all minute marks.
