BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Cathedral, Salisbury

This is a Noon Mark and is hard to find. It is situated in the chamfered undercoping of the north boundary wall of the cathedral, opposite the front door of No 28 in North Walk, and on the side away from the road and houses. It lines up with the east window of Holmwood House and is one foot to the left of the end of a line of bricks inset in the wall. It contains a deep groove cut in the south side of the coping. The word Meridies is barely visible. Ref: Mrs Gatty,1900, p 129. Also: Salisbury, The Houses of the Close, RCHM p 45.
