BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Groombridge Place (4), Groombridge

Located in the ’Drunken Garden’, as a memorial to Luis Gordon, photographer of note, this dial uses a vertical water jet as its gnomon. Hour markers are placed to read the time on the solstice. The shadow on that day is however not long enough to reach the time scale. Aligned Roman numerals VII - + - IIII - VII (Maltese Cross at noon).
