BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The hour lines are well engraved. The face appears to be made up of four stone slabs with evidence of spalling. The rod gnomon has a double ’C’ support.
Vertical Roman numerals VII - XII - VI (4 pm not readable). Long hour lines to small semicircle around gnomon root, short half and quarter hour marks.
Set into the gable of the brick wall of the north wing. It is said to have been moved from the west wall of the gatehouse (see photo (d)) in about 1830. This appears unlikely as the dial is correct for its present position (unless it has been moved twice).
