BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Town Hall, Lynton

The Town Hall was built between 1898 and 1900 and the dial on its half-timbered gable must surely be of the same date. A wide rectangular stone between the timbering has an oval dial plate between deeply incised decoration. It shows 6am to 6pm divided into halves and quarters. The gnomon has a decorative supporter.
