BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Almshouses, Maidenhead

In the gable is a stone vertical declining dial about 450mm x 650mm probably dates from 1659 when the almshouses were built and has black painted Arabic numbers which appear in relief on a white ground. The hours shown are 6am to 6pm divided into halves and quarters. The gnomon is probably a modern replacement.
