BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary the Virgin Church, Kintbury

A large circular dial engraved on a square stone on the south-west buttress to the church tower. Most unusually, the Roman numerals, aligned with the hour lines, are read from inside the dial so that the numeral XII is upside down. The dial shows 6am to 6pm with 30 and 15 minute marks. Hour lines terminate on a large circle concentric with the chapter ring. The dial is slightly canted out from the wall in order to face due south and is retained by iron dog-nails. The solid modern looking gnomon has a stout surface-mounted supporter.
