Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Devon

The inscription reads: "Qui vit content tient assez", the motto of the Bradshaw family of Halifax, whose Coat of Arms also appears on the dial. There is a Watch Faster/Slow scale for EoT labelled as according to new style and split at N and S, and the dial shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15, 10, 5, 3 and 2 min marks. The numerals are read from outside the chapter ring and use XII and IIII, with a noon gap. There is transversal ’vernier’ style interpolation of minutes. Inward pointing fleurs de lys half hour markers. Triangular gnomon similar to that at Lacock. Dial now in collection. Lat of N5340 scratched on back.
