BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
A Type 2 P&G heliochronometer, serial number 720, still in working order (July 2014). It bears a very faded Inscription: ’This sundial was …. Commemorate the gracious visit … Hoghton Tower (on) 16th (?) July 1913 (by) their majesties King George Queen Mary’. Ornate sandstone pedestal.
